Why small habits matter? MUST TO READ!
Were you ever been impatient for that 1%? Like for example, you are sitting in front of your desktop and your YouTube video is tucked at 99% loading page and when that 1% completes, your video will start running. This is the time when you want that 1% to be completed badly. Yes! 1% change in your life matters. It matters when you want to build your identity when you want to make something your habit for a lifetime (In this case, I'll be suggesting good habits).
Now, I will give a small highlight of my whole blog so that you will get interested to read further.
Small habits+time= Permanent change
This equation is straightforward, for that reason, this blog post is mandatory for everyone to give a read and try to build their identity. In the below portion, there will be some key points and explanation which will try to help you understand.
1. The lion and the mouse
I just want to briefly describe this childhood story but life learning in few words. This story is where a small life, the mouse made a huge difference while cutting the net on which the lion was tucked. So, why I mentioned this story tag? Because here the small made a difference.
Now, let's say the 'small' here in this topic, is a habit. But it's the truth that we don't want a small change, we want something bigger, that will make more fame, more money, more respect. Right? But my friend, the smaller marginal gains also matters, I mean it matters a lot. Let's see 'Why you need to get 1% better every day to reach the peak of great change"

Sometimes, we try to make few changes in our daily habits but if you check the result of this transformation in your habit the next day, you'll never see that much difference. Why? Because, you haven't wait for that transformation to be permanent, that's why you slide back into your previous routine. Now get back to my equation above, you are seeing a part that is 'time' which is added with habit. Now, if you don't give time to your habit so that it can become permanent, then you have to add time as much as possible. That means you have to be patient.
2. Why 1% matter?
Just imagine, you're riding a car and you are on that part of the road of which on few degrees right is the airport and the few degrees left from the middle is the beach. Now, you are leaving for the airport and for some reason, your car just moved on the left for a few degrees change of the steering, where will you be now? On the beach, right? But what was your destination?
This is an example of how real that 1% change in your life matters. You will not observe the change with a snap of your finger, sometimes it takes time to realize that great change but sometimes you'll understand that result instantly. So, 1% change here and there, leads to a change of habit which you'll feel after reaching that destination.
3. The Plateau of latent potential
This is the thing which I've got to learn from the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. Everyone who reads this book must have gone through this portion.
Let me uphold an example for making this clear to you, you're running on the treadmill for about 1 month. But, you aren't seeing that much change you want before you start running. One day, suddenly you go into the weight measuring machine and observed that wow! I'm out of 3 pounds. Wait! How did that happen? Did it happen because YESTERDAY I WAS RUNNING 1 MINUTE MORE THAN THE OTHER DAY ON THAT TREADMILL? No dude! This is the result of the whole month, the energy you've given to lose weight in 1 month. The change is because of that. But at first, you thought that "Yesterday night was magical".

Why at first this thing got to your mind? Because you haven't crossed the "Plateau of latent potential". This is the part after which your action transfer into results. Therefore, your work wasn't wasted, it was just stored. So, MASTERY NEEDS PATIENCE AS JAMES CLEAR SAID!
4. Run after systems, Goals will be after you
Why do we want to change our habits? Because, you've learned from childhood that if you don't have good habits, you won't have perfect goals and success will slip away. So, you need to have good habits. Now, you know your goals, but do you know how to get there? In short, do you know the system? Yes, this is the thing I will talk about that, why you should focus on 'system' rather than focusing on goals.
The system is the sequence or the process which will take you to your goals. As for going on an adventure, you have to enjoy traveling because the real enjoyment lies in traveling which ends after reaching the destination. Similarly, try to take the system seriously, rather than taking the goals. If you want to reach your destination successfully, you have to take care of traveling or here, the system first.
Just imagine, in the class in which Mark Zuckerberg was, there were more students like him who were as passionate as Mark. But why did Mark become so successful, but his friends are doing small jobs or something which is less than Mark's? This is because, Mark was somehow focusing on his system, his daily laws, whereas his friends were thinking about the goal only and working according to that. I am not saying that you don't have to focus on your goal. You have to fix your goal but you have to work for your system.
My goal is to be a doctor in Medicine, my friend's goal is to be an engineer. And we used to say "Until I don't reach my destination, I will not be happy or not sit calmly". This is the thing everyone thinks. But is this correct? I mean, you really don't know whether you will be in the future or not! So, don't destroy your daily happiness on goals. Goals can restrict your happiness. It doesn't mean that if you don't reach your goal then disappointment will cover you. Chances are always with you. So, what you have to do is just stay calm and focus on the system.
